Enjoyable Gingery Tipple
As a dedicated Whisky drinker I noticed recently that there arent many alcohol free options open to a malt fan. I decided to sample some of the options out there.1st things 1st.... this is not Whisky nor intended as a whisky replacement. It is however a drink that can be poured into your fav whisky glass and enjoyed in an evening. My thoughts; On the nose, Gingerbread, earthy, roots xmas spice.1st Sip, instant realisation of smooth mouthfeel, with burst of earthy gingery flavourFinish, an amazing Ginger afterburn, enjoyable, lengthy & more-ish.So that was my 1st taste of an alternative spirit, I have to say i'm quite impressed and poured several of these one after the other into my Glencairn. I am a big fan of sherried malt whisky and have tasted a vast range of pricey malts over the years. Keeping an open mind about alternatives seems an interesting area to explore.I realise that there will likely be a lot of reviews with people instantly disliking non alcoholic alternatives but I think if you keep in mind this is in a genre of its own, its not trying to be anything, in fact due to its plant based composition I think it really is verging into its own territory of drink. I should note that I had a great sleep the evening after sampling, something that this bottling markets as an advantage hence the name Nightcap, was that a coincedance? I dont know but the botanists who put this together seem to claim it assists sleep.I think my initial thought with purchasing somethings so different to my usual whisky tipple was this: Was I purchasing a bottle of juice? after my 1st sip and noticing the thicker consistency It definitely isnt juice, it feels more special, more luxurious. Overall I would say this is in a category of its own and tbh I quite like it. In fact im keen on trying the other products from this company. As with all things every individual will have their own taste preferences, I happen to really like Ginger so naturally I would warm to this drink due to its Gingery notes and mild afterburn.

Relaxing-good alcohol alternative
Good alcohol alternative. Very relaxing and helps me sleep. Doesn't taste like whiskey but has a nice herby/spice flavour, goes great with ginger beer. On my 3rd bottle! Doesn't last long

Went mouldy after about 4 weeks of opening
The media could not be loaded. This was the third bottle of Nightcap that I had ordered. I had even recommended it to a few people because the taste is quite nice.Although I never noticed a distinctive nootropic effect, I did feel quite relaxed when I drank it while cooking. I also found myself feeling sleepier than usual while watching TV after dinner. Overall, I was relatively pleased with the product, albeit it being overpriced (per ml, it’s almost 50% more expensive than Kraken rum). However, the most recent bottle I purchased from Amazon went mouldy after being open for only about four weeks (purchased 4th Jan). I’m not sure if it was a faulty product, but unfortunately, there is no option to request a refund or exchange at this point. My advice: try it, but don’t buy it from Amazon.

Pleasant
Very strong ginger almost like non alcohol ginger wine. I find it more pleasant with a splash of soda water. definitely get againIt's a very small bottle that's the only thing I'd sayThe size compared to 70cl bottle. The pics online make it look biggerSide note don't get the Morgan if you don't like synthetic taste

It is not whisky, nor it will make you feel anything different. However it is a great product!
I see that there are many reviews that complain about this not being whisky. This is true. This is not whisky. It is not aged, it is not malted barley (or any other grain for that matter). My amazon account will not let me lie on that one.I also want to say that I found some of the marketing a bit disingenous. You won't feel anything extra that you wouldn't feel with any other drink. That being said, as a big time single malt drinker myself, this is a really nicely made non-alcoholic drink! It is probably as complex as it can get before needing alcohol. In fact I would suggest it, if you are having a dry week. However, settle your expectations. Is it nice to sip? Yes. Is it whisky? No. Should it be marketed as a complex flavour? No. Is it tasty and would I suggest it? Yes.
