Impressed with results
Each year I use the least expensive antifouling paint I can find.I bought this because the lower cost paint was out of stock, and I can tell the difference is like night and day.My boat has been sitting in the water for 3 months and there's nothing attached or growing on the sides that I can see.In the past there would be algae growing within the 1st month.I won't know how the bottom held up until I pull the boat out for the season, but I expect it to better than the past using cheaper paint. The cost was worth it.

you like your boat buy it good paint...NOT JD SELECT
terrible paint. Never saw a bottom paint so thin in 25 yrs . Stays chalky comes off with a soft rub. returned for refund. Made double work for myself not just paying more for good paint. Hosed the coat off with a soft deck brush and a hose. Went back to Sea Hawk AF 33.

We will see
I’ve been using different bottom paints for years that have been only partially reliable on keeping barnacles and grass from growing on the bottom. However you would think that the high price paint would work. I’m only giving it four stars at the moment because I haven’t tested How Effective it is. We slip our boat in the summer and I have yet to determine its reliability. I will say that the application and the end result once it’s dry is astounding. Once it’s dry it leaves a beautiful flat finish without any streaks from brushstrokes. Most people don’t want to paint a relatively new outdrive because it looks horrible. I hope that it does as well as it looks after five months in its slip.

Great paint in my opinion
Any bottom paint is great as long as your prep is done correctly and you clean the surface your painting the right way. Everyone has there own way of doing something but if your prep isn't right then you can't blame the paint.

Very impressive application quality with painting suit, roller, pan and stir sticks
I have been using various bottom paints wince about 1983. This review has no bias for or against JD Select, in that I bought the product. It was not supplied at reduced cost for a review. OK, so my boat is 41 feet and requires between two and three gallons. I open the first gallon and found very little settling of the heavier compounds. A few minutes with the supplied stir stick, and into the supplied roller pan and application with the supplied roller. Excellent coverage. Very smooth line free dried result. It was 52 degree F and the paint was dry enough to recoat in a little over one hour. No smell at all. I didn't miss the fumes from solvent based paints. Back from the marina I found some paint on my arm, dried. Two seconds under the faucet and the dried paint was gone. The application phase couldn't have gone better. The look of the paint and coverage is excellent. How well will it perform? Only time will tell, I can't review that at this point.
