Q: do the lights work without the Logitech gaming software? Or does it work with linux?

I didn't download anything. The paperwork that comes with the keyboard are non-existing/worthless. When you reboot your computer the keyboard is dark. Pushing the key for the back light does nothing. I played around and here's how to do it. Give your machine time to complete loading everything. Push and while holding the back light key push the 0 key. The lights will come on. To cycle or change the colors hold the back light down and keep pushing the 0 key to change colors. While holding the back light key down and pushing the numbers 1 through 9 you will get different effects. I played around for less than 2 minutes and figured out this work around as Logitech's website isn't any help. You don't need the gaming software if all you want is a fully even lit board. Enjoy.

No it is not, but I rather like it. its not small but not too big.

One Big Problem

I have had the keyboard for less than a month, the spacebar is broken now, it is either double pressing or not pressing at all, it is impossible to right a simple message or send an email with this keyboard. I am even writing this review or another keyboard that is 10 years old. I love Logitech products but this one is broken unfortunately

overall it's a good keyboard you can't set RBG styles or macros to single buttons

pros:overall it's a good keyboard, and it's looking nice. it has soft buttons.Cons:you can't set RBG styles to single buttons and can't make macros on single buttons.also, it's not a mechanical keyboard. it's a normal one. for the price, you can get an average mechanical keyboard.
