I’m a swim instructor and spend anywhere from 3-5 hours in the water on a daily basis. Most our pools are about 88 degrees and none of them have on site showers. I drive about 13-30 minutes until I can get to a shower. Aqua guard and I have a love hate relationship. The first time I used this I put it in like 2 minutes before I got in the pool and slathered it on. It smelled amazing and did stay in my hair all through the shift. But when it came time to shower it wouldn’t come out. It stayed in my hair making it crunchy and super tangled. I don’t like to give up on products so I did some research and experimentation and here’s what I found.1. It doesn’t matter if it goes in your hair wet or dry. 2. Put it on like 5 minutes before going in the pool. That gives it time to absorb 3. Think of it like a top coat for your hair you want enough for it to coat it but not enough that you see super thick deposits in your hair. 4. You HAVE to use a special chlorine removing shampoo to get it out (I tried a normal clarifying shampoo and it failed so look for swim specific I buy a 3 in 1 product and it works great although sometimes I do have to wash 2 times) 5. If you have warm water it’s best to rise your hair in that right after swimming and try not to let it dry in your hair or sit in it for a long time. ( I will say that I can actually let it sit in my hair for a bit like 1-2 hours if I rinse my hair in super warm sink water before leaving)Following all the above rules it works beautifully my hair is the softest it’s ever been and while there is some chlorine damage from my failed uses I haven’t seen any damage beyond that. I even had some curls one day. I usually braid my hair and due to being an instructor and working with kids I don’t wear a swim cap and I’m really happy with the condition of my hair. Plus it smells so good for everyone wondering the smell is a sweet almond smell due to the almond oil in it. I just ran out (this sized bottle lasted me about a month) and have the huge bottle on the way

So many products promise this, that, and the other and don't really make much difference. But Aqua Guard products do their job. For reference my hair is thick, wavy/curly, blonde/white and I regularly (twice/month) use colored conditioner to keep my hair toned, not brassy. I use heat. My hair tends to be dry, but is healthy overall, and I want it to stay that way. I do pool aerobics and swim four times/week, I'm in California so in the pool, sun, wind year-round. Aqua Guard products are the blessing that helps keep my hair and skin healthy. All are very lightly and pleasantly scented, I've had no problems with pumps or bottles and consistency of all products I've used is really nice. Reef safe, no animal testing. I'm delighted with Aqua Guard products and bet you will be, too!

We went to Aulani a few years back and while we were there the water dryer out our hair and it just was really hard on the hair. So the next year we were blessed to be able to go again and we got this product and it worked great. It help our hair stay healthy. We use it all the time now, when we go to water parks, community pool and family/friends pools. Good value. We have been buying this for over 2 years.

Product works well, especially if you coat your hair evenly. Only negative is it smells like cherry cough syrup and doesn’t last long. Will be buying the larger product. Lasted me roughly 7 swims.

I could not be happier with this product! my daughter's hair after swimming is always a tangled disaster! I took a leap and decided to try this product. we've only used the before swim cream so far but WOW what a difference in her hair! we went from a 40 minute brush job after swimming to just a quick 5 minute brush through!! its definitely worth the money!

I have used expensive hair products for years and was shocked at how good the shampoo and conditioner is. I bought to use after lap swimming but it delivers the scalp cleansing and softness of salon quality products.

I bought this for my daughter who is on a swim team. Not sure it did much, if anything it seemed to just built up on her hair and didn’t wash out well. She wears a swim cap, so I’m not sure if that makes a difference. Smell is great and the value for the money is good. Might work better if you wear it without a swim cap?

This product protects hair and scalp from both chlorine and salt water while swimming, which is about 4 times per week. I wet down my hair, comb it through, and it actually gives subtle highlights to my hair!
