work great
These are bright - charge lasts quite a while - recharge well - more rugged than many others we have purchased in this price range.

Hands Free Illumination
We support the stray and feral cats at a local park, and since Phoenix is brutally hot in the summers, we feed in the morning, before the sun comes up. It's the coolest part of the day, even though it's sometimes over 90 degrees.Needing to restock the feeding stations with food, wash and refill water bowls and collect empty dishes from an earlier feeding, I need to be able to see what I'm doing in the dark, while having both hands free.I have been using headlamps for many years, and have been through several different brands and models. These appealed to me because of the price, the brightness, the fact they were rechargeable and there were two of them. I have a different kit I use once a week, when I clean the stations with a pressure washer, so having two headlamps meant I could keep one in each kit.I like the choice of different lighting, either spotlight or floodlight, and two intensities of brightness. There is also red light and flashing red light, which might come in handy in an emergency, but so far, that hasn't happened.Whatever light choice you select, that stays in place when you turn the headlamp on or off. Some models I have had make you cycle through all the choices every time you turn them on. There is also a setting for motion sensing. With this on, if something passes in front of the sensor, the light turns on or off. This is fine if you are not close to anything, say if you were jogging or cycling. You swipe your hand in front of the headlamp and it turns on or off. However, in my situation; bending over a feeding station, or passing through a gate, the closeness triggers the light. I don't use this, but I can see its application. Luckily, the headlamp is very adaptable. You can choose what works for you and that's what you get.

Great Bang for Buck
I am pleasantly surprised with these headlamps and their features and performance for their price point. They have so far outperformed far more expensive headlamps I have used. The 6 lighting options (high/low spotlight, high/low/red floodlight, and red strobe) are all surprisingly bright and effective. See the included photos for the three high power options directed at an otherwise dark ceiling corner for an idea of how they truly perform. The inclusion of a proximity wave to turn on/off feature is another pleasant surprise. When active, the small green light on the front of the light turns on. This feature is very sensitive, almost too sensitive, but would be a nice, quick, hands free way to turn the lamp on and off if in a situation where doing so is necessary. I don't see myself using this feature all the time, but in situations where it is desirable it will certainly be appreciated. Both lights came fully charged out of the factory and so far have not needed a recharge - full battery life to be determined. The only complaints I have are that the headlamp admittedly looks and feels light in the hand and generic. That said, they seem more than adequate, especially when the price is factored in. We will see if they stand the test of time, but so far I am impressed.

Cheap, Bright, Semi-water Resistant Headlamp
This is the second time I'm buying this cheap Amazon headlamp for 2 reasons -1 - It is bright and will stay securely on my head crawling around in attics all day.2 - The 2 headlamps only cost me $8 each and they lasted me a year of constant abuse in those hot 100+ degree attics working as a residential insulation tech. I just bought a more expensive Coast headlamp that's 4 times as much as this one. There is a noticeable difference in quality and added features. You get what you pay for. That said, the cheaper lights will not hold a charge all day unless you charge them in between jobs or have one of the two always being charged. This headlamp is also NOT waterproof or shockproof. If you drop it, it will crack the plastic, and will invite moisture in, ultimately causing it to short/break.The micro usb charging cable and port seems weak as well, but at least has a dust cap.The headband also doesn't 100% prevent sweat running down your face as there's no silicone lining to prevent it.The motion detection mode, if used in small spaces, it can get annoying when the headlamp will turn on/off if it gets too close to a wall or object.Positives:The headlamp is bright, can hold a decent charge, and is cheap. If using this headlamp professionally, count on it breaking in x amount of days. I'd imagine my Coast light will last years with a lifetime warranty as opposed to this light lasting maybe A year with no warranty.Do you think 2 cheap headlamps for $16 per year is better than paying $40 for 1 headlamp with a lifetime warranty? Do you need 2 versus 1 lamp? Does quality and waterproof features matter to you? Dropping this headlamp from 4' up will mark its demise, so will you be careful with it or is it being used on a job site? I slowly cooked my first 2 lights and sweat profusely though both of them for a solid year and watched them slowly die. I'd recommend using this light for camping, or general purpose household chores, NOT like I did, in an extreme climate/ pro work environment. It's not rugged at all but great for light duty jobs around the house/campsite.
