Return of the luggage
This is the first Discworld book I've really enjoyed for a while. Rincewind is a familiar character and his luggage always gets a few laughs. I liked that this book was back to the short sub 200 page format so I flew through it. I found the time travel storyline humorous and I liked the parody versions of our own timeline.

Another great read
Another Rincewind and the Luggage adventure. A retelling of the Faust story a la Pratchett

Fun but not the best Discworld has to offer
An entirely Discworld-eqsue take on demons, Hell and damnation. It was a fun little side-adventure for Rincewind but not one of the best instalments. It's also entirely stand-alone so could easily be skipped whether on a first read through the series or re-reading like I am. It was nice to revisit, though.

Discworld, what's not to love?
The Discworld novels are the funniest books I have ever read. They are lite reads and always so much fun. I re-visit them every few years, they are that good!

Rather marvelous
Ok so popping back into the Discworld series after a gap of some years and it's like I never left at all. All those indelible trademarks are here, the quirky world populated by characters with oodles of character. The vivid and playful description, the ever constant knack for coining a perfect line and last but not least, the humour underscored by a humanity more relatable than a good score of tales set in the real world. If you're this far along in the series you probably need little persuading at this point but take this as a recommendation nonetheless. Yes it is one of the shorter tales in the main-line Discworld series but is no less a joy to read as a result. Hell as imagined as the quintessential office work place managed to tedious oblivion is one of those masterstrokes only Pratchett could have pulled off.Go read it!

It's a gem
I thought I'd read all the Discworld books but this one escaped me until now. How did I ever misd it? Rincewind the hopeless wizard tackles hell. However, the inferno has a new demon king and he has been studying modern business management. So, hell is truly horrific as anyone who's ever been on a customer care course or an effective strategy meeting can surely testify. But Rincewind has an ace up his sleeve because wherever he goes, The Luggage is never far behind, and not even the doors of hell can stand fast against The Luggage. Surprisingly, it's a story where everyone ends up feeling happy. Brilliant satire from the master

pure pratchett
I sometimes think it doesnt get any better than Pratchett. I read this when first published (book 9??) and have the illustrated edition too. And reread this 20 years later? And it is still brilliant, laugh out loud funny and way too damning / insightful into the business world, myth building, and legends. Anything that has Rincewind and the Luggage in it is going to be a treat. This is no exception. Timeless in reading. Pratchett once said Tolkein would be around in 100 years and he wasn’t sure his work would be. It will.

Eric - Terry Pratchett
Adoro tutti i suoi libri!
