ESI ES1247B Single Channel Multi Purpose Programmer Timer (New Model) by ESI Controls

Bought this timer for oil heating boiler as it is the same as my older one easy to install as you don’t have to wire it up just unscrew old one off as the backplate with wires stays on the wall & just click new one on to plate all ready to go setting times for heating

With over seventeen years in the industry I can confirm that the quality exceeds what you'd expect for the price. Much nicer than the equivalent B&Q/Screw-Fix(same company)/Centre-Brand(Plumb's) cheapies etc. and looks smart when fitted with backlight on permanent.Wiring is as simple as always with this kind of timeswitch, and programming is a doddle for engineer and customer alike.Recommended highly when available at this price (£23).

Replaced an older Randall 103 timer with this unit. Hardest bit was sorting the older wiring out. Easy to install the backplate and set the timing. Be interesting to see how it holds up over the winter. Its early days but doing good for now.

Great value program timer and very easy to install. Electrical wiring diagram could be a bit clearer regarding the switching of live phase but otherwise very happy

I bought this item as I wanted two on and off times on my immersion hot water heater which the old one did not have. When setting it up I discovered there were multiple options such as landlord settings protection and set proposed times. However it was easy to enter programmed on/off times and it clearly showed it was complying. After a few days I noticed it was switching on but not according to the set programme. After two weeks of monitoring my meter I found that besides running to my programme it was using extra electricity on an erratic background basis and not showing it on the screen. Then it became completely haywire and I took it out and scrapped it. I bought a cheap analogue programmer and it works well with no hassle.

I replaced the integrated time switch on my boiler because it pack up now the replacement has stopped working, so I decided to replace it with a remote device and I can truthful say the new one is far better than the original time switch on the boiler.

It was very simple to install. Incredibly easy to set programme. Display size is great, one can see current status easily.I can only say that I easily programmed mine to the actual 3 times a day I want the heating on and off for every day. Every day it set a different time for all three ON/OFFs per day. As per instruction manual. However, as an amateur I did have to read it a few time before it sunk in. After that it was very easy to set up.

Supposed to have an industry standard backplate.It didn’t fit the backplate on my existing Horstmann Centaurplus time switch.Also the wiring was different.
