Very effective durable repairs, but also very fiddly
The Expanding Hose Repair connector set does the job perfectly. It has the advantage of allowing a conventional bit of hose to be added in to extend the expanding hose even further. However, it is a fiddly job assembling the hose to the connector bits, although this becomes easier with practice. It is easier with strong fingers and a sharp pair of strong scissors. How to do it.. 1. Decide which bit of hose needs to be cut away. I had a section about eight feet long with five leaks; maybe a fox had chewed it.. 2. Mark on the outer of the hose the usable ends of the good bits.. 3. Allow all the water to leave the hose.. 4. Cut through the complete hose at the marks with a sharp pair of strong scissors (much easier than one might think). A clean cut without frayed edges on the hose sleeve makes life so much easier later.. 5. Make sure you have the inner rubber bit of hose visible, slide back some of the sleeve if necessary.. 6. Slide the outer cover of the repair adaptor along the rubber inner and over the hose sleeve enough so some sleeve is showing (easier said than done!). 7. Slide the white collet onto the rubber inner, with locating notches facing towards the adaptor.. 8. Push the rubber inner over the adaptor spigot.. 9. Slide the collet up over the rubber inner to engage with the lugs on the adaptor, without the inner rubber also climbing up and getting in the way. (Much easier said than done, but possible with practice.).10. Slide the hose sleeve over the collet, but not as far as onto the threads on the adaptor. (Tricky but possible)..11. Slide the outer cover of the repair adaptor over the hose sleeve to engage with the thread on the adaptor, without dragging any of the hose sleeve into the threads. This is where a clean cut makes things easier..12. Screw the outer cover up tight to clamp the hose sleeve and the inner rubber tube to the adaptor..13. Test it!

Essential piece of kit for every owner of an expanding hose. Complete instructions for repairs are included.
No owner of an expanding hose should be without this kit. Most of us have - or will - suffered leaky connectors, either at the end that attaches to the spray gun, or the tap end, or hoses that have split, even with careful use, and not been able to find the correct size bits to fix it, with the net result the hose has been binned. This kit comprises two well made, robust clip on connectors. It also contains a joiner, so if you have a hose that is leaking from the main body, it's possible to cut out the split section, fix a connector onto each end and reconnect them with the joiner. The hose might be a tad shorter, but it will be useable again. The joiner will also allow you to connect two expanding hoses together to make an extra long hose. The joiner fits snugly and securely. But it's the connectors that are the mainstay of this kit. They're plastic, but stoutly made, probably better than the originals. Not difficult to fit, and this kit comes complete with full instructions so that even a numpty like me can figure it out.I have to do a lot of watering during the growing season, and I really like the expanding hoses, but they do have their weaknesses. This kit is an essential repair kit and fixer-upper.

Good replacement fitting
The thread had gone on our Hozelock expanding hose, and after consulting Youtube I realised the fittings could be replaced, and then found these. The old one was fiddly to remove, and the last part had to be cut off in the end. This replacement took a bit of effort to put onto the hose, but mostly because it is very tight fitting, which is a good thing. Once it was on though it worked fine, with no leaks so far. Even if it does eventually go the same way as the original though, there were two supplied, so it can always be replaced with the second one. Overall, recommended, but watch the Youtube videos before doing the replacement!

Pleasantly surprised.
I bought this repair kit when I discovered the rats or the foxes had chewed my expanding hose which I left out in the garden all winter. I expected it to be a fiddly and unsuccessful repair but with a try as expanding hoses are too expensive to throw away . And to my surprise it was quick and easy to get the new connector onto the hose, which is now working as good as new.

Worked like a charm
I had purchased an expanding hose from a local store, and the connector broke after a few days. I purchased this kit online, and it had a small leaflet with instructions that had me repair the hose in no time. I can't yet speak to the quality of the part, since I just changed it, but the instructions are great.

Very easy to fit together and worked a treat
This item did everything I expected of it. Very easy to fit together and worked a treat.Sadly on first use the X-hose promptly split in another place. So to make it clear this product was perfect for the job. As for the X-hose I will NEVER buy another one like it.
