Important Ingredient
If you want to make authentic Spanish caldo gallego or fabada asturiana, these are the beans to use. If you are not familiar with these dishes, Google the recipes. They are easy to make, and a poem in food.

Beans were not very fresh.
I recently returned from Asturias in Spain where I tasted the local dish of Fabada Asturia. It is a hearty bean and sausage soup and I wanted it to be as authentic as possible, so I bought these beans on Amazon. After rinsing and soaking the beans overnight I saw that as the beans cooked,, the outer shell of many of the beans started soughing off into the stew. When I googled it, I discovered that stale beans will slough off their outer shells, so I assume that was the source of my problem,. I should have known better than to order beans that had no expiration date.

Excellent
I bought these to make fabada. The beans are creamy and delicious. They are very expensive, however.

Bolivia origin, expensive
If you are picky about your products, read the info thoroughly. Origin is Bolivia. I don’t know enough about Fabada beans to rate them. Too expensive for sure. Wanted to try at least one time after seeing Chef Jose Andres cook Fabadas Asturian on tv. Won’t purchase again.

Receiving a product that is not damaged, which I got.
Not happy at all to get an open bag of $26 beans that let lose in the box, quite a.mess to clean up.and not the cleanest way to get them.

Not Asturian Fabes Beans at all!
They claim to be Asturian Fabada beans, but they are not, they are beans from the Leon area. They are old, super dry, small and rotten. And NOT RETURNABLE!
