Works well! Easy to clean
i considered buying a much more expensive filter, but even those dont seem to last. This filter is the easiest to clean out of any of the previous ones I've owned. Works well, and keeps the 1000 gallon pond nice and clean. I will be happy if I get a year out of it, anything more than that is a bonus.update: 4-3-2023still working after 2+ years, i decided to just buy a whole new unit instead of replacing the filter on this old one. the UV light doesnt do much on this unit, and my handle broke off, making it a challenge to clean the filters. at this price point, I am thrilled I got 2 years out of it. Buying another one, and hope I get 2 years out of it as well. Runs 24x7x365

filter media chamber seal can be problematic
Worked ok when it still worked. Canister is fairly thin walled, appears to be pressure sensitive, bulges slightly under pump pressure. Not the real issue though. The seal between the canister and top has been less than ideal from the initial install 8 months ago. Tends to leak and then seal up as the canister starts to collect pond muck subsequent to filter cleaning. Recently noticed a bloom of green string algae and it appeared the UV lamp had burned out. Figured I would clean the filter and confirm the replacement bulb I would order. Although this filter is not exposed to sunlight one of the eccentric clamps plastic failed upon reassembly and the resultant leak precluded putting the filter back into service.Although the back flush feature worked well to extend filter cleaning frequency, suffice it to say I will not be replacing this unit with the same model nor brand.

Small but functional
Super duper small, like the volume of 2 or 3 milk jugs. Leaked upon initial installation but I applied a generous quantity of teflon tape, PVC glue, and hose clamps, now there's zero leak. The cleaning dial is handy for flushing the filter as well as draining my pond. Cleared my water but it took a couple of days and several filter flushes.

Inlet clogs too easy.
It works moderately well in a Koi pond. The inlet and outlet have a vertical grill to keep the rubber seal in-place while you switch from clean to back-flush and back to clean. This grill gets clogged way too easy. I find I have to clear it every other day. The filter media does not stay in place when you cycle the handle when back-flushing. The rubber seal around the barrel is tricky to keep in-place. (hint: turn it upside-down and keep the gasket on the cover, fit the bucket over the cover. the gasket will not stay in-place if you try fitting it on the bucket then trying to fit the cover over the bucket... it won't work. Once you pinch the gasket, it will leak.If you find you've damaged the gasket, all is not lost. Boil some water, enough to immerse to whole gasket, remove from heat, dunk the gasket in for 10 minutes or so, knead out of kink(s), should be good-to-go, unless you actually cut the gasket....

Excellent filter terrible o-ring
Filter works like a dream it did not come with the bio balls as it was supposed to anf when closing the filter the O-ring is almost impossible but it has to be on to keep filter from leaking. Fortunately you don’t have to open the filter too much Also you don’t see the green light to indicate the UV clarifier is working but I can see my fish that indicates the UV light is working love the filter I’d buy another Not much directions so you need to understand the filter first but five stars

Not worth the money!
I bought this filter because I needed a affordable pond filter, and it seemed well made. I used it for my 700 gallon pond in summer of 2022. When I started it back up this spring, the backwash dial was extremely hard to turn, and the O ring no longer worked. I tried to find replacement parts, including a new UV bulb, but was not successful. Now this filter is useless to me! Since it is made in China, trying to reach anyone for help is non-existent. I would recommend spending a little more money and getting a better filter that has replacement parts readily available.

I See Fish!
I have a small pond and was using a small in-pond filter - the one with bio-balls. It was ok but it was a pain to clean (I had to take it apart and it was really messy) and my pond was green. I could hardly see the fish. This filter is oversized for my pond but, for the price, I decided to go for it. It’s amazing. It cleared up my pond in a few days. I can see fish! [Now I have to watch out for the Great Blue Herons. :) ]
