Dumps extra voltage back towards DC.
This cable works well, and is pretty sturdy. With that said, the converter used dumps the extra voltage back on the line which caused issues for my project. If you intend to use this within a custom power supply project (in my case powering a hard drive in an application that could not use an enclosure alongside the primary device) be mindful of the extra noise on the line.

Wish it had an on/off switch
I used this to power my PC’s water pump when filling the reservoir so I didn’t need to disassemble the cables attached to my PSU or use PSU bridge.It worked as expected. Only downside is that I wish it had a switch to toggle it on or off as filling a reservoir requires turning on the power multiple times.

Does the job for the price
The HDD power driver failed in my camera DVR, I just stuck this in the box and plugged it into a 12V power supply. Now the drive it working fine and saved over $100 from not buying a new DVR.
